Craig and I finally made it to the indoor climbing place in Artarmon that we have talked about for ages.
Despite horrible toothache I managed to have some fun and challenge myself.. it’s way harder to climb walls than you’d think! Learnt how to belay and made it to the top of a few walls… I was proud cause it’s kinda scary when you climb so high and your brain cannot yet understand that there’s a rope to hold you if you fall.
Just look at these walls to appreciate it a bit more…
As for the two weeks of agonising toothache, I finally got an appointment today and had a root canal treatment.. pain is gone but I have to go back 3 times to get lots more work done and I’ll be paying for it for a long time. At least I can go back to my life without pain!
Today I took my parents’ dog Muffin on a walk as my mum had a bad fall and can’t walk at the moment. Took the dog to Cooper Park in the sunset, was really beautiful. There’s a special joy in watching dogs frolick on the grass…
Now I’m coding interviews at home into the night… until I finish them.
California is a progressive place in many ways… except a big religious movement has managed to get Proposition 8 up, to demolish equal marriage rights for same sex couples which were already won. Many same sex couples there may get their existing marriages annulled. I guess it’s a good reminder for all of us that bigotry isn’t going away and the progressive change only happens where there’s a concerted long-term fight for equal rights.
Those of you who know me would know that I’m no fan of marriage, but I will stand up for other people’s rights to choose how they want to live even when it involves a very traditional institution… I’d like marriage to be way broader than this, but maybe the first step is to demolish that heteronormative foundation.
The fight is on around the world… let’s hope the Californian High Court will squash Proposition 8…
R&R is a wonderful monthly kinky playparty where I meet a lot of my friends, play around, dance and get happy like the human monkey I am
I’m in debt, my work situation is not happy and I have an awful toothache that will cost a lot of money to fix… so being able to party is rather nice! Craig also comes along and at 7am when we left he was still going strong.
I had sooooo much fun at the party.. I’ll be back next month for sure!!
Since then we had a quiet weekend sleeping, reading, cuddling and watching DollHouse. Though it’s still technically Easter I started working again from home. Have a big workload for the next few days, then going shopping with mum, getting some extra decorations for my new pad!
Next week I’m graduating and around the Anzac weekend (25th April) Craig and I are planning to go camping, just the two of us.. I’m really looking forward to this too.
Back to work for me… as for the $900 bonus from the Govt, it will pay for half of one tooth being fixed.. that’s something though not quite economic stimulus in my case I think…
